Bloom ry receives €9,900 Grant for producing International House Tampere pilot programme
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tampere, Finland, October 8, 2021 - Bloom ry, a leading association with a mission to build the bridge between internationals and locals in Finland through empowerment events, received a €9,900 grant on October 6, 2021. The grant was endowed by International House Tampere from the City of Tampere for the purpose of producing social integration programmes for International House Tampere pilot programme. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland has participated in the financing of the project. The project contributes to the goals of the national Talent Boost programme.
International House Tampere strives to promote professional networking and the employment of international experts through associative cooperation. The aim of the pilot programme is to promote the professional networking of international experts, learn about Tampere's culture, increase community spirit, apply for self-employment and employment, and market public services.
Funds will be allocated to marketing, sales and operational departments, to pursue this goal. The project will be headed by the board members of Bloom: Kelly Keodara, Karen Ahtiainen, Aleks Tuckett, Päivi Riutta, Katarina Jurisic and Clare Nauman. The combined expertise of these individuals include marketing communications, event management and production, finance and logistics, Finnish and international law, international business and affairs, community building and M&E. The assistance of volunteers will also aid in the success of these pilot programmes. The pilot programme is scheduled to begin at the end of October 2021 until March 2022. More details will be posted on www.bloomtogether.fi/bloom-in-tampere.
“It is with great honour to develop empowering events for our community that promote diversity and social inclusion. Tampere is a thriving city full of opportunity, and we must open these up to every individual, regardless of where one is from or what languages one speaks. The name of the pilot programme will naturally be ‘Bloom in Tampere’. The programmes that we anticipate are practical Bloom in Finnish courses, Grow Sessions to help you grow personally and professionally, Mini Bloom activities for the little ones, Bloom at Night social gatherings, and the Bloom Buddy Programme where you can dive into the Finnish culture with a buddy to guide you through the adventure. Thank you to International House Tampere for this opportunity to strengthen our community. We look forward to a successful pilot programme ahead!” -Kelly Keodara
